Jazz Legacy Gala Virginia Beach Concert reviews
Too little, too late
We were fine with the concert being “ with” Raitt, as we like Bonnie Raitt and were excited to hear the songs we grew up with.
At 7:30-9:30, Raitt and other musicians played. Then, there was a break. We had to get up and go to work the next day.
By 10:00, James Taylor had played 3 of our favorites and several songs we had never heard of. His voice is beautiful as always. Wonderful 3 songs.
What a disappointment at 10:00 when we cut out losses and left. Long hike to car, traffic jam, long drive home. Too little, too late for us working people who bought all his albums when he had long hair.
Summer fest really screwed us on the scheduling and the length of Raitt's set. She is wonderful and should have her own concert. Totally not worth it for 3 songs.
